# Scheduling

Scheduling determines when Feedotter checks your content sources and generates emails.

Every automation includes both:

* A **schedule**, which controls when Feedotter runs
* **Content selection settings**, which determine whether content qualifies for inclusion in an email

Together, these settings control when emails are generated and what content appears in them.

### Scheduling Options

Feedotter supports a variety of scheduling frequencies, including:

* When A New Post Is Published
* New Content Threshold 
* Every Hour
* Every Day 
* Every Week 
* Every Month 
* First / Last of the Month

### Content Selection

Several settings influence whether an automation generates an email and which articles are included.

These include:

* **Require New Content to Send** – Only generate emails when new content is available.
* **Published Date Filter** – Uses article publish dates to determine whether content is considered new.
