Published Date Filter

Understand how Feedotter uses article publish dates to determine content eligibility and prevent duplicate sends.

The Published Date Filter controls how Feedotter determines whether content qualifies as new (along with the last sent date).

This setting is enabled by default for all automations.

What the Filter Does

When enabled, Feedotter evaluates the published date of each article in the feed.

Articles published after the automation's last send date are considered new and will included in the next email.

This helps ensure subscribers receive newly published content rather than older articles.

When the Filter Is Disabled

When the Published Date Filter is disabled, Feedotter no longer uses published dates to determine eligibility.

As a result, emails may contain:

• Articles published before the last send date

• Future-dated content

• Content without a published date

• Previously featured content

This can be useful when you intentionally want to reuse or re-feature content.

Relationship to the Previously Sent Posts Filter

The Previously Sent Posts Filter depends on the Published Date Filter.

When the Published Date Filter is enabled:

• Feedotter tracks URLs that have already been sent.

• Previously emailed articles can be excluded from future sends.

When the Published Date Filter is disabled:

• Previously Sent Posts filtering is not applied.

• Previously emailed content may appear again in future newsletters.
