At FeedOtter, we’re excited to help you turn your custom HTML email into an automated newsletter. To ensure a smooth setup and high-quality results, it's important to follow the HTML email best practices outlined below.
Work with your email designer or developer to create a clean, responsive HTML email.
Test your HTML using a tool like Litmus to ensure compatibility with all major email clients.
Ensure your logo, footer text, and other static elements are coded in place.
Use placeholder text and images for areas where blog posts and dynamic content will appear (more on that shortly).
Acceptable sources for your HTML code:
HTML files exported from your ESP
HTML direct from your email developer
What NOT to send us:
EML files or files downloaded from email clients such as Gmail
All images must be visible when your HTML is viewed in a browser.
All images that should be linked must have anchor tags (links), including article featured image placeholders.
All text that should be linked must have anchor tags (links), including article placeholder text (titles, "Read More," etc.).
Your HTML email must be tested using or another suitable testing tool.
Meeting these requirements ensures our team can provide a timely, high-quality automated newsletter setup.
We cannot accept emails that fail a basic Litmus check or are missing any of the elements outlined above.
