While ActiveCampaign is an amazing marketing software, its RSS email features are minimal and challenging to work with. FeedOtter solves these issues and offers additional RSS automation for your content team.
For more information on ActiveCampaign's RSS Capabilities, you can view their support articles here.
The ActiveCampaign email builder allows you to add an RSS block to any email. You can then decide which feed items you want displayed in the block, along with the number of articles you want displayed. At this point, the customization capabilities (without any additional code or manual work) are maxed out, leaving you with a lackluster email design.
Here is an example of a standard ActiveCampaign RSS block.
Images can make or break your email engagement. Unfortunately, ActiveCampaign does not currently provide a way for you to pull images into the RSS block.
Note that the FeedOtter RSS integration will automatically pull images and resize them appropriately for your newsletters.
ActiveCampaign’s RSS email campaign feature allows you to automate RSS email newsletter sending daily, weekly, or monthly. To complete this, you'll want to set up a new campaign and choose the RSS Triggered type.
Next, you can choose how frequently you want ActiveCampaign to look for new posts. When it finds a new post, it will automatically send out the email.
FeedOtter's integration gives you additional options for automating your RSS feeds. Some sending parameters you gain with FeedOtter include:
When new content is published
Certain days of the week; M – W – F
On the first Tuesday of the month or Last Friday of the month
Quarterly, Bi-Monthly, Annually
With FeedOtter, you can also determine the number of new posts required before the newsletter sends, eliminating the danger of sending the same content in consecutive newsletters.
